Shenyang

Shenyang is a sub-provincial city located in the Liaoning province of China. Formerly known by its Manchu name Mukden, it serves as the provincial capital and is the most populous city within the region. As of the 2020 census, the city has a population of 9,070,093, making it the largest city in Manchuria by urban population and the second-largest by metropolitan population.

The Shenyang metropolitan area is classified as one of the major megalopolises in China, with a total population exceeding 23 million. The city's administrative jurisdiction encompasses ten metropolitan districts, the county-level city of Xinmin, and the counties of Kangping and Faku.
