Zhongzhai is a rural town located in Xinhuang Dong Autonomous County within the Hunan province of China. It occupies an area of 133.9 square kilometres (51.7 sq mi) and had a recorded population of 16,130 as of the 2015 census.
The town is situated among several neighboring administrative divisions, bordering Hetan Town to the north, Mibei Miao Ethnic Township to the east, Fuluo Town to the west, and Zhuxi Township to the south.
