Zhongshan is a prefecture-level city located in the southern region of the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong province, China. It is also known by the Cantonese romanization Jungsaan.
As of the 2020 census, the city has a population of 4,418,060 inhabitants. It currently forms part of the Guangzhou–Shenzhen conurbation, which has a total population of 65,565,622. The subdistricts within the city-core were formerly known as Shiqi or Shekki.
