Pingxiang is a medium-sized prefecture-level city situated in western Jiangxi Province, People's Republic of China. It serves as a regional hub located within the interior of the province.
The city is bordered by several other administrative regions. To its east and south, it shares boundaries with Yichun and Ji'an, both of which are also located in Jiangxi Province. To the northwest, Pingxiang borders the cities of Zhuzhou and Changsha in the neighboring Hunan Province.
