Pingxiang is a medium-sized prefecture-level city situated in western Jiangxi Province, People's Republic of China. It serves as a regional hub within the province's western geography.
The city is bordered by several neighboring jurisdictions. To its east and south, Pingxiang borders the cities of Yichun and Ji'an, also located within Jiangxi Province. To the northwest, it shares boundaries with the cities of Zhuzhou and Changsha in Hunan Province.
