Jinchang is a prefecture-level city located in the central region of Gansu province in the People's Republic of China. It shares a northern border with the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
According to the 2020 Chinese census, the city has a total population of 438,026 inhabitants. The majority of these residents, numbering 260,385, live within the built-up area of the Jinchuan District.
