Xinji is a county-level city located in the Hebei Province of North China. It falls under the administration of Shijiazhuang, which serves as the provincial capital, and is recognized as the easternmost county-level division within that prefecture-level city.
The administrative structure of Xinji consists of eight towns and seven townships. The city's primary industry is leather production. Due to its geographic location in North China, the area faces significant air pollution issues, particularly during the winter heating season when PM2.5 concentrations frequently exceed national standard limits.
