Quxar, also known as Chusar or Quxia, is a small town located in Lhatse County within the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. It is situated in the valley of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, approximately 151 kilometres (94 mi) southwest of Shigatse and just west of the mountain pass leading to that city.
The town sits at an elevation of 4,050 metres (13,290 ft) above sea level. It is notable for its high-altitude climate; Lhatse recorded a temperature of 28.9 °C (84.0 °F) in locations above 4,000 meters.
