Karakax County, also known as Moyu County, is a county located in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. It is situated on the southern edge of the Tarim Basin and falls under the administration of the Hotan Prefecture.
The county covers an area of 25,667 km² (9,910 sq mi). According to the 2011 census, it has a population of 577,000, with 98.1% of the residents identifying as Uyghurs.
Karakax County is bordered by several other regions: Awat County in Aksu Prefecture to the north, Lop County to the northeast, Hotan County to the southeast, Maralbexi County in Kashgar Prefecture to the northwest, and Pishan County and Kunyu to the southwest. Exclaves of Kunyu are also located within the county boundaries.
