Dabancheng District, also known as Dawan Cheng, is one of the seven urban districts of Ürümqi. It serves as a constituent part of the prefecture-level city that functions as the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in Northwest China.
Situated southeast of the main Ürümqi urban area, the district covers a total area of 5,042 square kilometers (1,947 square miles). According to data from the 2002 census, Dabancheng had a population of approximately 40,000 residents.
