Sandouping is a town located in the Yiling District of Yichang, a prefecture-level city in the Hubei province of China. It is situated on the southern bank of the Yangtze River, positioned adjacent to the border of Zigui County to the west.
The town is primarily recognized as the site of the Three Gorges Dam. This structure is distinguished as the world's largest electricity-generating plant of any kind.
