Longkou is a county-level port city located in northeastern Shandong province, China. Formerly known as Huang County, it is situated in the northwest of the Jiaodong Peninsula on the south bank of Bohai Bay. The city faces the Bohai Sea to the north and west, and it sits across the sea from Tianjin and Dalian.
Administratively, Longkou is governed by the prefecture-level city of Yantai. It shares borders with Penglai District to the east, Qixia City and Zhaoyuan City to the south, and the Bohai Sea to the west and north. The city covers a total area of 901 square kilometers and encompasses five subdistricts, eight towns, and one high-tech industrial park.
