Huangshi, also romanized as Hwangshih, is a prefecture-level city located in the southeastern region of Hubei province, China. It serves as an administrative center within this province and is characterized by its significant urban development.
According to the 2020 census, the city has a total population of 2,469,079 inhabitants. Of this population, 1,567,108 residents live within the built-up area, which consists of four urban districts and the city of Daye, which is currently integrated into the city's agglomeration.
