Wulingyuan is a scenic and historical site located in the Wulingyuan District of Hunan Province in South Central China. It is characterized by a vast landscape featuring more than 3,000 quartzite sandstone pillars and peaks, many of which exceed 200 metres in height. The area also contains numerous ravines and gorges containing picturesque streams, pools, lakes, rivers, and waterfalls.
The site features 40 caves, several of which contain large calcite deposits, as well as a natural bridge named Tianqiaoshengkong, which is one of the highest in the world. Additionally, Wulingyuan serves as a habitat for various vulnerable species, including the dhole, Asiatic black bear, and Chinese water deer.
