Leiyang is a county-level city located in the southern region of Hunan Province, China. It functions as the third most populous county-level division within the province and operates under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Hengyang.
The city covers an area of 2,656 km² (1,025 sq mi) and has a registered population of 1,413,913. Its administrative jurisdiction includes six subdistricts, 19 towns, and five townships, with the government seat located in Caizichi Subdistrict.
Leiyang is bordered by several neighboring regions: Hengnan County to the north, Changning City to the west, Guiyang and Yongxing counties to the south, and Anren County to the east.
