Xingtai is a prefecture-level city located in the southern region of Hebei province, China. Historically known by the names Xingzhou or Shunde, the city covers a total area of 12,486 square kilometers (approximately 4,821 square miles). It serves as an administrative hub for four districts, two county-level cities, and 12 counties.
The city is geographically positioned bordering Shijiazhuang and Hengshui to the north, Handan to the south, and the provinces of Shandong and Shanxi to the east and west, respectively. According to census data, the total resident population was recorded at 7,111,106 in 2020, with projections indicating a resident population of approximately 6,877,800 by the end of 2024. Within this population, the urban areas account for roughly 3,921,700 residents.
