Quzhou is a prefecture-level city located in western Zhejiang province, China. It is situated on the upper course of the Qiantang River and serves as a regional hub bordering several other administrative areas. To its north lies Hangzhou, while it shares borders with Jinhua to the east and Lishui to the southeast. The city also neighbors the provinces of Fujian, Jiangxi, and Anhui to the south, southwest, and northwest, respectively.
As of the 2020 census, Quzhou had a total population of 2,276,184 inhabitants. Of this population, 902,767 residents live within the built-up area, which is composed of the Qujiang and Kecheng urban districts. The city is also noted as the birthplace of Chinese actress and singer Zhou Xun.
