Langfang

Langfang is a prefecture-level city located in the Hebei Province of China. It is situated approximately midway between the major cities of Beijing and Tianjin, bordering Baoding to the southwest, Cangzhou to the south, Beijing to the north, and Tianjin to the east.

The city was previously known as Tianjin Prefecture until 1973, when it was renamed Langfang Prefecture following the designation of Tianjin as a municipality. It was subsequently upgraded to a prefecture-level city in 1988. Langfang is recognized as the smallest prefecture-level city in Hebei Province by land area, covering approximately 6,417.28 km².

As of late 2024, the resident population of Langfang was recorded at 5.469 million people. The city's built-up area is primarily composed of the Guangyang and Anci districts, while neighboring areas such as Sanhe City and Dachang Hui County have become conurbated with Beijing.
