Xinye is a county located in the southwest region of Henan province, China. It falls under the jurisdiction of Nanyang and covers a total area of 1,062 km2 (410 sq mi). The county is bordered by Tanghe County to the east, the county-level city of Dengzhou to the west, and the prefecture-level city of Xiangyang in Hubei province to the south.
The geography of Xinye is characterized primarily by flat terrain. According to the 2020 Chinese Census, the county has a population of 602,827 residents. The region is notable for its natural resources, which include deposits of oil, natural gas, and geothermal energy.
