Xinyang is a prefecture-level city located in southeastern Henan province, People's Republic of China. It serves as the southernmost administrative division within the province.
According to the 2020 census, the city has a total population of 6,234,401. As of the 2010 census, approximately 1,230,042 residents lived in the built-up area, which consists of two urban districts known as Pingqiao and Shihe.
