Showa (also known by various romanizations including Shewa, Shua, Shoa, and Shuwa) is a historical region situated in Ethiopia. It formerly functioned as an autonomous kingdom within the larger framework of the Ethiopian Empire.
The modern capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, is located at the center of this region. While historically significant as a kingdom, it remains a primary geographical area associated with the nation's central governance and history.
