Jiyuan is a sub-prefecture-level city located in the northwestern region of Henan province, China. It serves as a geographical point situated between several neighboring administrative areas.
The city borders the prefecture-level cities of Jiaozuo to the east and Luoyang to the southwest. To its north, Jiyuan shares a border with the province of Shanxi.
