Huangdao District and West Coast New Area is a district and state-level new area located in the city of Qingdao, Shandong Province, China. It is situated to the southwest and west of Qingdao's main urban center along the western shore of Jiaozhou Bay.
The region was originally established as the Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone in 1985, which later merged with Huangdao District. In 1992, it was designated as a Free Trade Zone. The district's current boundaries were further expanded in December 2012 when the county-level city of Jiaonan was merged into the district.
