Gongyi is a county-level city located in the Henan Province of South Central China. It operates under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Zhengzhou and was formerly known as Gong County.
The city covers an area of 1,041 square kilometers (402 square miles) and has a population of approximately 790,000 people.
