Changge is a county-level city located in the central part of Henan Province, China. It operates under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Xuchang. Historically, during the Han dynasty, the area was known as Changshe.
The city spans from 34° 09' to 34° 20'N latitude and 113° 34' to 114° 08'E longitude. It is situated approximately 21.4 kilometers from north to south and 51.9 kilometers from east to west. Changge borders the province capital of Zhengzhou to the north, the ancient capitals of Luoyang to the west, and Kaifeng to the east.
According to the sixth national population census conducted in 2010, the city had a population of approximately 687,081 residents.
