Suifenhe

China

Suifenhe is a county-level city located in the southeastern region of Heilongjiang province, China. It falls under the administration of the Mudanjiang Prefecture-level City and shares its name with the Suifen River. The city serves as a significant geographical point where the former Chinese Eastern Railway crosses the international border with Russia's Primorsky Krai region, specifically near the town of Pogranichny.

The city is notable for its unique economic status regarding international trade. In January 2014, Suifenhe became the only city in China where trading with the Russian Ruble is officially permitted. This distinction highlights its role as a key gateway for cross-border commerce between China and Russia.
