Heihe is a prefecture-level city located in the northern region of Heilongjiang province, China. It is situated on the south bank of the Amur (Heilong) River, directly across from the Russian city of Blagoveshchensk.
As of the end of 2024, the resident population of Heihe was approximately 1.23 million people, consisting of 823,000 urban residents and 407,000 rural residents. According to the 2020 census, the city's total population was 1,286,401, with 223,832 individuals residing in the built-up area of the Aihui District.
