Xiaoqiao

China

Xiaoqiao is a city located in China. While specific geographical details are limited, it is historically associated with the region of Jiangdong during the late Eastern Han dynasty.

The location is notably linked to the Two Qiaos of Jiangdong, two sisters from the Qiao family who were depicted as figures of exceptional beauty in the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. According to historical fiction, their presence served as a pivotal element leading to the Battle of Chibi, one of the most significant conflicts of the pre-Three Kingdoms period.

The sisters are central to the narrative involving the Chancellor of the Eastern Han dynasty, Cao Cao, whose interest in them is referenced in his son's poem, "Ode to the Bronze Sparrow Platform." This interest was a primary motivation for Zhou Yu of Jiangdong to initiate war against Cao Cao.
