Ningde is a city situated on the northeastern coast of Fujian Province in China. Historically, it has been known by the romanized names Ningteh and Ning-Taik.
The city's geography is defined by its proximity to several major regions; it borders Fuzhou City to the south, Wenzhou Prefecture of Zhejiang to the north, and Nanping to the west.
