Hunchun

China

Hunchun is a county-level city situated in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture within the far eastern region of Jilin province, China. The city covers an area of approximately 5,145 square kilometers and has a population exceeding 250,000 inhabitants.

Geographically, Hunchun serves as a border location, neighboring Primorsky Krai in Russia to the north and North Hamgyong Province in North Korea. Historically, the area is significant as the site of Donggyeong, which served as the eastern capital of the Balhae Kingdom between 785 and 793.
