Helong is a county-level city located in southeastern Jilin province in Northeast China. It falls under the administrative jurisdiction of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture.
The city has recently been noted for social unrest involving migrant labor. In January 2024, several thousand North Korean migrant workers residing in Helong initiated a series of protests regarding withheld payments.
