Gongzhuling is a county-level city located in central Jilin Province in Northeast China. It falls under the administration of Changchun and is situated along the main railway line in the Northeast region, positioned approximately halfway between the cities of Siping and Changchun.
The city serves as a hub for several industrial and academic institutions. Notable employers include the Jilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences, which is located on the north side of the railway, as well as various factories specializing in the manufacture of auto parts. Additionally, Gongzhuling maintains a significant military presence, featuring both a People's Liberation Army (PLA) base and a military airport.
