Tiefu is an ethnic group located in China. Historically, members of this group belonged to the Tiefu-Xiongnu ethnicity and were associated with the formation of various dynastic states during the Sixteen Kingdoms period.
The imperial clan of the Tiefu existed as a tribal entity prior to establishing the Xia dynasty. This state was also known by several other names in historiography, including Hu Xia, Xiongnu Xia, Helian Xia, and the Great Xia.
