Taicang is a county-level city situated in Jiangsu province, China. It falls under the administrative jurisdiction of Suzhou and is located in the southern region of the Yangtze River estuary.
The city's geography is defined by its proximity to major water bodies and urban centers. It lies opposite Nantong across the river and shares a border with Shanghai proper to the south. The Yangtze River also serves as a significant geographical marker, delineating much of Taicang's northeastern boundary along Chongming Island.
