Shaodian is a figure in Chinese mythology and history identified as the father of the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi). According to the Records of the Grand Historian, he was the founder of the Youxiong clan.
The historical records state that Shaodian had two wives from the Youjiao clan: Fubao and Nüdeng. From these unions, he fathered two significant figures in Chinese mythology; Fubao gave birth to Huangdi, while Nüdeng gave birth to Yandi.
