Pingxiang is a medium-sized prefecture-level city situated in the western region of Jiangxi Province, People's Republic of China. It serves as a regional hub located within the interior of the province.
The city is bordered by several other administrative divisions. To its east and south, Pingxiang shares boundaries with the cities of Yichun and Ji'an in Jiangxi Province. To the northwest, it borders the cities of Zhuzhou and Changsha in the neighboring Hunan Province.
