Jingdezhen is a prefecture-level city located in eastern Jiangxi province, China. It borders Anhui province to the north and had a recorded population of 1,669,057 as of 2018.
The city is widely recognized as the "Porcelain Capital" due to its extensive history of ceramic production, which dates back at least 1,000 years. During much of this period, Jingdezhen porcelain was considered the finest quality and most significant in China. The city's broader historical record extends back over 2,000 years.
