Huangshi, also romanized as Hwangshih, is a prefecture-level city located in the southeastern region of Hubei province in the People's Republic of China.
According to the 2020 census, the city had a total population of 2,469,079 inhabitants. Of this population, 1,567,108 residents live within the built-up area, which consists of four urban districts and the city of Daye, which is currently part of the city's agglomeration.
