Helong is a county-level city located in southeastern Jilin province in Northeast China. The city falls under the administrative jurisdiction of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture.
The city has recently been noted for social unrest involving North Korean migrant workers. In January 2024, several thousand of these workers initiated a series of protests within Helong regarding withheld payments.
