Xiaoshan is a suburban district located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. It serves as a significant administrative division within the larger metropolitan area of Hangzhou.
Historically, Xiaoshan functioned as an independent city. It was geographically separated from Hangzhou proper by the Qiantang River until 2001, when it was officially annexed by its more populous neighbor to become a district.
