Xianlin University City, commonly referred to as Xianlin, is a community located in the Qixia District of Nanjing, China. It is situated northeast of Purple Mountain and approximately 15 kilometers from Xinjiekou, which serves as the city's central business area.
Planned in 1995 and established in 2002, Xianlin holds the distinction of being the earliest university city in China. It currently houses 12 higher education institutions, including Nanjing University, Nanjing Normal University, and Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. The layout of the community allows these various institutions to share academic resources conveniently.
