Wenzhou is a prefecture-level city located in Zhejiang Province, China. Formerly known as Yongjia, the city is situated on the southeastern coast at the lower reaches and estuary of the Ou River. It is geographically bordered by the East China Sea to the east and the Zhejiang–Fujian Hills to the west.
The city governs four districts, three county-level cities, and five counties, with its municipal office located in Lucheng. Wenzhou holds a significant economic position as one of the 27 core cities of the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone and one of the five central cities of the Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone. Notably, it serves as the sole junction between these two economic zones.
