Jiaxing, also known as Kashing, is a prefecture-level city located in the northern region of Zhejiang province, China. It is situated along the Grand Canal and shares borders with Hangzhou to the southwest, Huzhou to the west, Shanghai to the northeast, and the province of Jiangsu to the north.
According to the 2020 census, the city has a total population of 5,400,868. Its built-up area consists of two urban districts which house a population of 1,518,654 inhabitants.
