Dongguan is a prefecture-level city located in central Guangdong Province, China. It serves as an important industrial hub within the Pearl River Delta region. The city shares borders with Guangzhou to the north, Huizhou to the northeast, Shenzhen to the south, and the Pearl River to the west.
As part of the larger Pearl River Delta built-up area, Dongguan covers a total area of 19,870 square kilometers. According to the 2020 census, the region's population exceeds 65.57 million inhabitants distributed across nine municipalities.
