A daoshi, also referred to as a Taoshih, is a religious professional within the practice of Taoism. The term translates generally to a Taoist priest, Taoist monk, or Taoist professional.
Within the hierarchy of these practitioners, specific titles are used to denote status and achievement. A senior daoshi may hold the courtesy title of daozhang, while a highly accomplished and revered individual is often referred to as a zhenren.
