Wuhu is a prefecture-level city located in southeastern Anhui province, China. It is situated on the southeast bank of the Yangtze River and lies approximately 90 km (56 mi) southwest of Nanjing.
The city borders several regions, including Xuancheng to the southeast, Chizhou and Tongling to the southwest, Hefei City to the northwest, Ma'anshan city to the northeast, and Jiangsu province to the east. Due to ongoing urbanization in southern Nanjing, a conurbation is currently forming between Nanjing, Ma'anshan, and Wuhu, which collectively houses over 10.66 million inhabitants.
