Meishan is a prefecture-level city located in the southwestern region of the Sichuan Basin in China. Historically, the city was known by the names Meizhou or Qingzhou.
As of the 2020 census, the city has a population of 2,955,219 residents. The built-up metro area consists of two urban districts, Dongpo and Pengshan, which house approximately 1,232,648 inhabitants.
