Dainan is a town located in east-central Jiangsu province, China. It operates under the administration of Xinghua City and occupies an area of 108 km2 (42 sq mi) with a population of approximately 93,000 residents. The town's administrative structure consists of four residential communities and 33 villages.
Geographically, Dainan is situated in the southeast of Xinghua City, bordering Dongtai to the east and Jiangyan to the south. The region is notable for its industrial significance, specifically as a production hub known as the "cradle of stainless steel." Due to this economic activity, the town has earned the nickname "No. 1 Town of Central Jiangsu."
