Zele is a municipality situated in the Belgian province of East Flanders. It is located approximately 20 kilometers east of the city of Ghent.
The municipality consists solely of the town of Zele proper, covering a total area of 33 km2. As of 2023, the population was recorded at 21,374, resulting in a population density of 641.6 people per km2.
