Yabassi is a town and commune located in western Cameroon. It serves as the capital of the Nkam department. As of the 2001 census, the population of the area was estimated to be approximately 12,000 residents.
The primary dialect spoken in the region is Yabassi. However, the commune also hosts several other dialects that originate within the Nkam department.
